Jessica Chastain is set to star as a ”sexy scientist every bit as smart as Tony Stark” in the third installment of the Iron Man series, Iron Man 3. She will be joining Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Ben Kingsley, and Guy Pearce. A sexy scientist redhead, eh? I can dig it.
Shane Black will co-write and direct. The film is slated for a May 3, 2013 release date.
Deadline reports that Chastain was originally offered the role, but then had to back out due to scheduling conflicts with a few other projects, including Kathryn Bigelow’s Osama Bin Laden film. It seems everything has been pushed around, cause she’s back in the mix. Jessica Chastain has been a busy little girl staring in The Tree of Life, The Help, Take Shelter, and Debt all last year.
