The Real ‘Prometheus’ Synopsis and Ben Foster Cast?

Yesterday we posted up a “leaked” synopsis of Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus that gave us a pretty detailed look into a possible plot. A plot that I think would be pretty awesome to see on-screen. Fox is now denying the synopsis’ validity and has issued their own “synopsis” in response. I put synopsis in quotes because what they gave us can hardly be defined as a synopsis. It’s more like a logline. Doesn’t even have enough information to be a logline actually.

Read what Fox had to say, and some news that Ben Foster might be joining the cast after the jump.

News of Ben Foster’s addition comes from JoBlo:

We’ve also confirmed that Ben Foster is now part of the cast.

That’s literally all they have to say about it. If cast, Foster will be joining Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Michael Fassbender.

Ben Foster was just recently fighting “aliens” in “deep space” in the movie Pandorum, which I actually really enjoyed and think is very underrated. How many of you actually saw it?

Anyway, here is the irritatingly short and unhelpful “synopsis” released by Fox:

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.

Prometheus hits theaters June 8, 2012.

What do you think of the “synopsis”?
