Has horror gone too far?
It’s like I told director Tom Six back in June when the British Film Board banned The Human Centipede Part 2: Full Sequence outright in the UK: You can’t buy this kind of publicity! Seems he’s stopped moping about the release of “spoilers” and taken up this brighter prospective. The newly released Australian trailer for The Human Centipede Part 2: Full Sequence uses the British Film Board’s own words to their advantage.
The Human Centipede Part 2: Full Sequence will receive a limited (and apparently abbreviated) theatrical release this October through IFC Films.
UPDATE: The first image was released as well as a new detail about the movie. Added after the jump at bottom of post!
Watch the trailer that proves controversy sells after the jump…
Trailer:
Bloody brilliant trailer Mr. Six! In keeping with his “information black-out” style of promotion (see the synopsis below), this trailer purports to show people viewing The Human Centipede Part 2: Full Sequence from the back of a moving truck. Their facial expressions seem to show that these viewers actually are experiencing pain—just like the British Film Board warned us! As excerpts from their decision flash across the screen, some scream and others are moved to tears. I don’t know if I really believe those shots of viewers vomiting into a bucket, though. Still, awesome trailer. Well done!
(Black-out) Synopsis:
A 12-person centipede. The only information IFC Films and the producers are revealing is that this time there is a new villain on the scene named Martin, and that the premise is 100% medically inaccurate!
So apparently, The Human Centipede Part 3 is already in production. As much as I’ve enjoyed the social experiment that is this franchise, I sincerely hope that Part 3 will actually be The Final Sequence.
Image via EW. This is Martin played by Laurence R. Harvey. He’s our new villain. On another note, did you know this movie is going to be in black and white? Because EW reports that it is. Interesting.
